- Connect the workspace where the discussion took place. If your company requires app approval, complete that approval before attempting a search.
- Open Ask Noet with ⌥Space and include the channel, topic and dates. For a long conversation, ask to inspect the thread rather than drawing a conclusion from a single message.
- Check the channel, author and timestamps against the Slack conversation. If you want a follow-up, ask for a proposed message and review its destination and wording before approving the write action.

What to check when a result is incomplete
Noet searches a bounded amount of history from accessible conversations. It cannot guarantee every historical message or channel is searched, and Slack retention and account permissions still apply. Channel and date filters help narrow retrieval. An incomplete result does not establish that a discussion never happened.

Questions about Noet and Slack
Can Noet search every message ever posted?
No. Search covers available connected conversation history within retrieval limits. For an older decision, name the channel and date range, inspect the thread, and check Slack directly if the result is incomplete.
Can it read channels I cannot access?
Noet uses the connected account's permissions. It does not grant access to private channels or retained history that the account cannot read.
Why does connecting Slack require admin approval?
Some workspaces restrict app installation or requested permissions. Ask your workspace administrator to review the connection; Noet cannot bypass that policy.
