AI follow-ups from your work conversations on Mac
Follow up with the conversation behind the commitment.
A reminder tells you that a date has arrived. A useful follow-up also needs the conversation: what was promised, who was involved, and whether the work is already complete. Noet can prepare a follow-up for a dated commitment after checking the thread for completion. You review the suggested message and decide whether a follow-up is still needed.

A workflow you can try
A teammate said the security review would be ready on Tuesday. Before asking for an update, you want to check whether a later message already resolved it.
Check Priya's thread about the security review due Tuesday. Has it been completed? Show the relevant messages. If it is still open, draft a short follow-up for me to review. Do not send it.
Inspect the evidence for the original commitment and any later update. If the work is complete, no chase is needed. If it remains open, edit the proposed follow-up to reflect the current situation before approving an external action.

How to use Noet for follow-ups
01
Keep the commitment attached to its conversation
Connect the supported account containing the thread. A concrete date and an identifiable commitment provide a clearer basis for preparation than a vague promise to do something later. You can also ask Noet to create a reminder for a date you choose.
02
Check what happened since the commitment
When a dated commitment comes due, Noet can check the conversation before preparing a follow-up. Review the later messages yourself, especially if the work may have been completed in a different tool or the deadline changed outside the thread.
03
Review, edit, or dismiss the follow-up
A prepared message is a starting point. Check that the recipient, date, and request still make sense. Send only when you are satisfied and have confirmed the action; dismiss the preparation when a follow-up is unnecessary.
What to know before you rely on it
- A commitment needs enough information to recognise the task and its date. Noet cannot reliably infer every informal promise or unstated deadline.
- A thread check may miss completion recorded elsewhere. Missing evidence is not proof that someone has failed to deliver.
- Preparation depends on Noet running, account access, and available messages. Use a separate critical reminder when you need guaranteed delivery at a particular time.

Common questions
How is this different from a reminder?
A reminder prompts you at a chosen time. A prepared follow-up uses the conversation to propose what you might say next. You can use reminders and prepared work together, but neither guarantees a commitment will be completed.
Will Noet chase someone without asking me?
Noet prepares the message for your review. Sending or otherwise changing an external service requires confirmation under the configured policy.
What if the task is already complete?
Noet checks the thread for completion before preparing a dated follow-up. Review the evidence and dismiss an unnecessary message. If the completion happened elsewhere, ask Noet to check that source too.
